‘Land ho’ for mission boat society

BC Mission Boat Society will not lease a boat in the summer of 2011

PARKSVILLE, B.C.-In a meeting held Monday, November 29, 2010 the Board of Directors of the BC Mission Boat Society (BCMBS), made a strategic decision to focus on year-round land-based ministry. This decision reflects a growing trend of the last few years; the changing interest of its mission volunteers; and available resources. Currently, land-based mission teams represent 75 percent of the organization’s year-round ministry. To focus in this direction, the society will not lease a boat in the summer of 2011. The board was led to this decision after careful prayer and discussion, including the additional meeting held November 29.

In a statement the board said “We believe [this decision] will enable more individuals, youth groups, and churches to experience and share God’s love in the communities we are privileged to work with on the B.C. coast. We are excited about this, and invite you to join us in praying for God’s continued leading and guidance for the BCMBS.”

Anyone interested in participating in a mission trip with the BCMBS, or have questions or comments, please contact executive director, Marcus Huff, at 1-877-303-2323 or marcus@bcmissionboat.org
