Every Fall, thousands upon thousands of students head back to class in our elementary schools, high schools, colleges, and universities. ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Nearly 50 church workers came together for Lutheran Church–Canada’s fifth Intercultural Church Workers Conference, held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Etobicoke. Participants came from all three LCC districts, as well as from the English District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, under the theme “Opening Our Doors to the World at Our Doorstep.”

MONTREAL, Quebec – A hymnal—one copy of one book—has led to cross-continent support of a new independent Lutheran francophone church body in the République démocratique du Congo.
A year ago an email popped up in Montreal asking how to obtain a Lutheran Church–Canada French hymnal: Liturgies et Cantiques luthériens. It had been sent by an Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada pastor planning to return to his homeland to head a new francophone Lutheran Church. CATHARINES, Ontario – Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary (CLTS – St. Catharines, Ontario) has issued a call to Rev. Geoffrey Boyle to serve as Professor of Theology with a specialization in Old Testament.
The call comes following interviews on April 2, 2016, conducted by CLTS’ President Thomas Winger, the board of Regents, and the electors of Lutheran Church–Canada.
Rev. Boyle is a native of Michigan and currently senior pastor at Grace and Trinity Lutheran Churches in Wichita, Kansas. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies (Old Testament) at the University of Toronto.
