WINNIPEG – On November 29, Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) dispatched its first shipment of sweaters for Syrian refugees living in the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan. The first shipment contained 22,508 sweaters, 1,707 pneumonia vests, 1,300 toys, and 60 soccer balls—an achievement made possible due to the hard work of dozens of volunteers from Winnipeg and surrounding area who sorted, folded, boxed, and loaded thousands of sweaters over a period of a few days in November.
Canadian Lutheran World Relief estimates it received somewhere between 50,000 and 60,000 sweaters from …

ST. LOUIS, Missouri – President Robert Bugbee of Lutheran Church–Canada preached the Service of Installation for President Matthew C. Harrison of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) September 14 in St. Louis.
“It’s an unexpected honour to be asked to serve our Missouri Synod friends in this way,” said President Bugbee in the days before the event, “and we deeply treasure the common confession and shared work that binds our hearts to theirs.”

ONLINE – In September 2012, Lutheran Church–Canada (LCC) hosted the Triennial Convention of the International Lutheran Council in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The opening worship service was held at Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary (St. Catharines, Ontario) with President Robert Bugbee preaching.

SASKATOON, Sask. – At the end of July, nearly 600 people from across North America converged on Saskatoon for the 94th International Convention of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League. President Robert Bugbee was invited to preach at the convention’s opening worship service.
