CLS calls president

EDMONTON – The Board of Regents of Concordia Lutheran Seminary (CLS) in Edmonton has called Rev. Dr. Carl Fickenscher to serve as the seminary’s new president.

Dr. Fickenscher currently serves as Professor of Pastoral Ministry and Missions and Dean of Pastoral Education and Certification at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne (Indiana), having accepted a call there in 1999. He is also editor of Concordia Pulpit Resources, and has published numerous articles, essays, and sermons. Among other work, he edited Concordia Publishing House’s Faith Alive Bible (a study Bible for youth), and serves on the Commission on Theology and Church Relations for The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.

A longer article on Dr. Fickenscher will appear in a future issue of The Canadian Lutheran in the event he accepts the call to serve as President of CLS.
