Dorothea Korcok called home to her Lord…

On Saturday, October 24, 2009, the Lord called Dorothea Korcok (nee Chovan) home to Him after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Almost 200 people attended the funeral service Thursday, October 29 Grace Lutheran Church, St. Catharines led by Pastor Larry Ritter , Dorothea’s pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Niagara-on-the-Lake. The preacher was Rev. Dr. Albin Stanfel, former East District president and long-time friend of the Korcok family.

Dorothea was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Dr. John Korcok, in 1994 and one son, Daniel. She is survived by three sons, John, David, and Thomas. Dorothea was a lay member of LCC’s Board of Directors, former president of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League-Canada, and former president of Haiti Lutheran Mission Society.
