Edmonton church hosts community event

Gordon Bellerose (l) and Doug Smith enjoy cold pop on a warm day at Christ the King’s Spring Fling.

EDMONTON – Christ the King’s annual Spring Fling June 19 included a community yard sale and an open house for King’s Kidz Christian preschool.

Bargain hunters browsed through the tables, enjoyed barbecued burgers and hotdogs, and listened to music throughout the day under the big tent. Children took part in face-painting, making balloon animals, and bouncing their way through an inflatable T-Rex. Parents dropped by the church to check out the preschool and meet next year’s teachers.

A community police cruiser also stopped by and allowed the children to explore and play in the car. Overall, it was a fun event to share with the community and Christ the King looks forward to hosting another one next year.
