EDMONTON – On Monday, January 29 during Chapel, Concordia Lutheran Seminary (CLS) president, Rev. Dr. James Gimbel announced where second-year seminarians will go to participate in the annual “Take Wing” program. Each year, to prepare its second year students for vicarage, the seminary—with financial support from the CLS Guild—sends students across Canada for a weekend to learn from a local pastor in a new context.

Adam Chandler: St. John, Warman, Sask. and St. Paul, Bergheim, Sask. (Rev. Randy Heide)
Mark Rekken: Epiphany, Thunder Bay, Ont. (Rev. Steve Bartelt)
Travis Heide: Grace, Ossoyos, B.C. and St. Paul, Oliver, B.C. (Rev. Darren Siegle)
Peter Knelsen: Bethany, Campbell River, B.C. (Rev. Tom Kruesel)
Josh Kurtenbach: Zion, Augsburg, Ont. and St. Luke, Eganville, Ont. (Rev. Dan Barr)

The president noted the seminary’s gratitude to these congregations for providing a unique opportunity to its seminarians, and expressed thanks to the Seminary Guild for its support in making this program possible.
