Haiti earthquake relief donation matching

The Government of Canada: The federal government will match dollar-for-dollar contributions made by individual Canadians to registered charities supporting humanitarian, recovery and reconstruction efforts in Haiti. Initially, the government capped the pledge at $50 million. It has lifted the cap.

Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) is a registered charity and qualifies for matching donations. Visit www.clwr.org/donate, or www.lutheranchurchcanada.ca/donate, call 204-694-5602, or 800-661-2597 to contribute by phone. To donate by mail write CLWR national office 302-393 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 3H6. Ensure cheques include “Haiti earthquake appeal.”

Haiti Lutheran Mission Society (HLMS) is a registered charity and qualifies for matching donations. Call 905-688-6211, 905-688-1226 or send a cheque to 400 Glenridge Ave., St. Catharines On, L2T 3L2. The HLMS is a listed service organization of Lutheran Church–Canada.

FaithLife Financial:FaithLife Financial: is a not-for-profit, member-based, financial-services organization focused on helping Christians build a better world. It is matching donations through its Chapter Disaster Matching Grants and expects to provide over $50,000 in addition to the funds raised by the Chapters. While the last day for pre-approval is Wednesday, January 27, Chapters can still use their regular Matching Grants in support of Haiti. The organization has 31,000 members in 350 Chapters across Canada. It is asking members to donate generously.. Visit http://www.faithlifefinancial.ca/en/ for more information.
