WINNIPEG – The Installation Service for Lutheran Church–Canada’s (LCC) fourth president, Rev. Timothy Teuscher, and newly-elected and continuing members of Synod’s Board of Directors (BOD) will be available to watch online. Beginning at 3 p.m. (CST} Sunday, January 28 viewers across Canada and around the world can watch the event at www.lcc2017.ca or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lutheranchurchcanada. All three previous LCC presidents, Rev. Dr.Edwin Lehman, Rev. Dr. Ralph Mayan, and Rev. Dr. Robert Bugbee will participate in the installation. Following the example set by Past President Bugbee, Rev. Teuscher will serve as preacher.

The Sunday afternoon service will wrap up a series of weekend meetings for the 2014-2017 board members and the new board. Beginning with a joint meeting on Friday, January 26 the board is planning to begin working through the numerous decisions required to implement the structure adopted by the 2017 Convention in October.

The new LCC Constitution which provides operational detail for the new structure was sent to LCC congregations for ratification in December. The deadline for the vote, which requires a 2/3 majority, is April 16, 2018. Future Board of Directors meetings will continue the implementation process based on the outcome of the congregational vote.
