WINNIPEG – On June 23, Lutheran Church–Canada’s (LCC) Executive for Missions and Social Ministry, Rev. Dr. Leonardo Neitzel, hosted MOST (Mission Opportunities Short Term) Ministry’s Executive Director, Carly Hatcher, in meetings at LCC’s synodical office in Winnipeg.

“Lutheran Church–Canada treasures the relationship we have with MOST Ministries and is grateful for their support,” said Dr. Neitzel. “Their partnership is a great blessing as together we seek to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the unchurched and to provide human care for all.”

For almost a decade and a half, the Iglesia Luterana Sínodo de Nicaragua (ILSN) and LCC’s missions in Central America have benefited from the support of MOST Ministries. MOST teams have conducted eye-glass clinics, medical clinics, Vacation Bible Schools, and English as a Second Language classes to support ILSN and LCC missions in Nicaragua as well as in Honduras and Costa Rica.

LCC and MOST Ministries forged closer ties in 2011 following a meeting between MOST’s Executive Director and LCC’s Executive Staff in Winnipeg. During their most recent meeting, Dr. Neitzel and Executive Director Hatcher considered new areas of cooperation, including the expansion of work together in Honduras and the possibility of joint work in Cambodia.

MOST Ministries is a Michigan-based agency which organizes, trains, and leads short-term mission teams. The organization links those wishing to serve internationally with mission opportunities around the world. MOST Ministries is a Registered Service Organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
