PORT ROWAN – A federal cabinet minister joined Lutheran Church–Canada pastors for a pre-Remembrance Day service inside a local community centre Sunday, November 8.

Diane Finley, federal minister of human resources and skills development and LCC Padre Jason Kouri, 12e Régiment blindé du Canada, were among the 350-plus people who attended the solemn worship service and wreath laying.

Kouri, who is a captain in the Canadian Forces, spoke about the comfort Christ brings.

Leading the liturgy was Rev. Lawrence Labatt, chaplain of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 279 and pastor emeritus of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Port Rowan.
