Seminary seeks new members for 1000 Club

Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary on the campus of Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Convinced of the need to train pastors for Lutheran congregations in Canada and to ensure sustainable funding, generous donors in the early ‘70s established an Endowment Fund for Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary. The goal then was challenging 1000 donors to give $1000 each to build a $1 million endowment and in so doing become part of the 1000 Club. Interest earned on the $1 million went to fund operating expenses.

Since dollars do not go as far as they used to, the seminary’s Board of Regents and the Seminary Foundation are appealing to members of LCC congregations to expand the 1000 Club with new gifts and pledges of $1000 or more. This will help Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary build its endowment reserves for operating expenses and debt reduction. As before, the goal is 1000 new gifts.

Here’s what the seminary is all about.

If you are interested in making a gift to CLTS, please contact Dr. Bill Mundt at 905-688-2362 ext. 27 or wmundt@brocku.ca  for more information.
