Four areas of the world in which Lutheran Church–Canada focuses its overseas mission activities recently received project grant money from Lutheran Women’s Missionary League-Canada.

The auxiliary organization has raised sufficient funds to grant $6000 for support of evangelists in Thailand; $12,000 for a sewing school at LCC’s mission centre in Chinandega, Nicaragua; $35,000 to support mission outreach in Costa Rica; and $6,000 for mission supplies in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine.

Approved by delegates to last year’s LWMLC national convention in Ottawa, the projects receive funding through gifts, donations and fund-raising events by the organization’s 2700-plus members.

LCC’s mission executive, Rev. Dr. Leonardo Neitzel expressed the thanks of the church, writing “We want to take the opportunity to thank you for your tremendous efforts in supporting the mission projects of Lutheran Church–Canada, and we pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen you and to shower the bountiful blessings of His Holy Spirit upon LWMLC.”
