Tirzah takes God’s love on the road

QUESNEL – The women of Tirzah – CREW Ministries’ first all-female, full-time touring groups – want the world to know the message behind their name.

Tirzah means beloved, and we are all “loved by God.”

The band includes Michelle Groening, Jessica Roth and Stephanie Roller. It formed in September and is now in the middle of a brief tour of British Columbia and Alberta.

In January, Tirzah will hit Vancouver Island and southern B.C., before swinging east in February, March, April and May.

Anitta Wemyss, a CREW ministries spokesperson, said the organization decided to put together a full-time touring team in August. The women sent in their applications, references and audition tapes. God picked the band’s all-female lineup.

CREW Ministries is an independent Christian ministry that works in cooperation with Lutheran Church–Canada (LCC).

Its first group of four young men, called The CREW, formed in 1988 and led singing at LCC youth gatherings.
