New hymn resource for anniversary celebrations

ONLINE – Lutheran Church–Canada (LCC) is pleased to encourage the use of a new resource for congregations celebrating special anniversaries. Rev. Dr. Howard W. Kramer, who served as President of Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary (St. Catharines, Ontario) from 1984-1990 has released his hymn “Father, Who with Wisdom Infinite” for the use of LCC congregations.

The hymn, written to the tune of Ebenezer, follows a Trinitarian theme, in the first three verses thanking each of the Persons of the Trinity for “years of blessing.” The final verse reads as follows:

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
God of clemency and might,
Here You often smiled upon us;
Smile once more with heav’n’s delight.
Endless praises! Endless praises!
Loud and long our thanks we’ll sing;
Endless praises! Endless praises!
To our God, our Lord, the King.
