Eighty years young

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Rev. John Schmidt of Calvary Lutheran Church marked his 80th birthday June 30. His congregation, which has been blessed to have him as their shepherd in Christ for 46 years, celebrated the gift of his life with cake and his favourite flowers, daisies, decked out in his favourite colours—the green and yellow of his beloved football team, the Green Bay Packers.
Pastor John served cake and received the love, hugs and birthday wishes of his congregation following the Sunday morning worship service on July 4.
