Convention 2026: Convention Appointments and Registration Information

 

National—In addition to releasing the convention workbook and announcing nominees, Lutheran Church–Canada has announced appointments and registration information for the upcoming convention in the convention workbook.

Iris Barta has been appointed Convention Manager. Rev. Cam Schnarr will be serving as convention chaplain and Rev. Alex Klages will serve as parliamentarian.

Convention committees, more popularly referred to as Resolution or Floor committees, have been appointed and are meeting online April 28, 29 and 30, 2026. They will also meet June 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the convention hotel.

The opening communion service for convention will be held Friday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m at the convention hotel, the Victoria Inn & Conference Centre. Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Winnipeg will be the host congregation for the convention.

Several exhibitors will be at the convention, including many of LCC’s auxiliaries and listed service organizations (LSOs). International guests will be in attendance from Australia, the United States, Thailand, and the Philippines.

If you are attending the convention but are not a delegate, you are encouraged to attend as a registered visitor. The registration fee is $55.00 and includes a name badge, designated seating on the convention floor, a convention workbook, copies of materials produced for delegates, and a copy of the convention proceedings. Email convention@lutheranchurch.ca to receive the registration link.

All convention delegates should have completed the online registration form, providing the synod office with their hotel requirements and transportation needs. If delegates have not yet completed this process, they are strongly encouraged to contact the convention administrators at convention@lutheranchurch.ca promptly.
