President Matthew Harrison of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) greeted guests on June 14. “It’s an unspeakable blessing in this crazy world of divisions,” he said, that the LCMS and LCC enjoy unity in the confession of the faith. “And it’s the Word of God that has created us brothers and sisters in Christ, and holds us for good.”

President Eliona Bernard of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti (ELCH) greeted the convention on June 15. “Haiti is facing one of the most difficult periods of its history,” President Bernard noted—something which makes their partnership with LCC the more deeply appreciated. “We thank you for standing as one body with us with us through your ongoing prayers and partnership.”

The convention also received greetings from the International Lutheran Council (ILC), represented by its Director of Communications, Mathew Block.

Also present for the convention were President Matt Anker of Lutheran Mission – Australia (LM-A) and President Antonio del Rio Reyes of the Lutheran Church in the Philippines. LCC voted to recognize fellowship with their churches on June 13.
