South Thailand Mission Support
“And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.”
—John 10:16
Lutheran Church–Canada supports Gospel ministry in South Thailand through its partnership with Thailand Concordia Lutheran Church. This work takes place in a region where the Church is small, Christianity is not widely known, and faithful Lutheran witness requires patience, clarity, and perseverance.
South Thailand is shaped largely by Buddhist and Muslim communities. In this setting, Christian mission cannot depend on public programs alone. It depends on the steady proclamation of Christ, the teaching of His Word, the care of souls, and the formation of believers in the life of the Church.
The goal of LCC’s support is that people would hear the voice of Christ in the Gospel and be gathered into His Church. Mission is not complete when someone has merely heard about Christianity. Christ gathers His sheep to Himself, and in His Church He forgives, nourishes, guards, and sustains them through His Word and Sacraments. Through preaching, Baptism, Absolution, catechesis, and the Lord’s Supper, the Holy Spirit creates faith, strengthens believers, and keeps them in Christ.
For many years, this mission field was served by Rev. Suchart Chujit, Lutheran Church–Canada’s longtime serving missionary in South Thailand. Following Rev. Chujit’s passing, the work is now under the oversight of Rev. Niran Temsakun, Director of Missions for Thailand Concordia Lutheran Church. Rev. Niran is providing pastoral and mission oversight while TCLC and LCC prayerfully consider the long-term future of this important mission field.
LCC is grateful to walk with Thailand Concordia Lutheran Church in this work. Please pray for Rev. Niran, TCLC, the believers in South Thailand, and all who have not yet heard the Gospel clearly. Pray that the Lord would strengthen His Church, raise up faithful workers, and gather many into one flock under one Shepherd.
