CLTS welcomes visiting scholar

Rev. Dr. Werner Klän

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary (CLTS) has welcomed Rev. Dr. Werner Klän as a visiting scholar for the 2020 winter semester and spring short semester to teach courses on dogmatic theology.

Dr. Klän recently retired from the faculty of Lutherische Theologische Hochschule (Oberusel, Germany), the seminary of Lutheran Church–Canada’s partner church in Germany, the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church. He has further served as a professor with the Lutheran Theological Seminary in South Africa, and has been a guest lecturer at many other international universities and seminaries, including Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Klän’s service as a visiting scholar at CLTS will help fill the gap between the departure of Professor Esko Murto back to Finland and Rev. Min Kim, who will take up his post at the seminary in July 2020.
