Constructing Vacation Bible School

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE, Alta. – Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church held a Vacation Bible School this summer from July 18-21. Despite there being only a very short time in which to prepare, God provided all that was needed, including 58 children and 33 volunteers (including 19 enthusiastic youth). The volunteers turned parts of the sanctuary into classrooms housed in three tents, while also utilizing two other classrooms in the church.

Centered around the theme “CONSTRUCTION INC (In the Name of Christ),” the group made music, heard and told stories, memorized Bible verses, created crafts, explored science, ate snacks, and were entertained by Gus the Clown and Rick the Brick.

The children were visited by David from The Lord’s Food Bank, a local ministry with a food pantry, and he encouraged them to give to the food bank as a mission project.

At snack time, the youth energized the children with a bit of fun exercise.

Each day the focus returned to God the builder of everything.

Day 1: Divine Design—God is the builder of everything

Day 2: Promise Blueprint—God has made me

Day 3: Resurrection Repair—God has raised Jesus to life

Day 4: Remodeling Project—Jesus loved me and gave His life for me

Children, youth, and workers all agreed: they want to come back next year!
