Greetings from President Teuscher: A New Year in Christ

As we enter a new year, we give thanks to God for His abiding mercy and faithfulness. Through every season, our Lord continues to guide His Church by His Word and Sacraments, calling us to live in repentance, faith, and love for one another.

The beginning of a new calendar year invites both reflection and renewed trust. We reflect with gratitude on God’s blessings in the year past—on the faithful service of pastors, teachers, congregations, and church workers across Lutheran Church–Canada. At the same time, we look ahead with confidence, knowing that our hope rests not in our own strength, but in Christ alone, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

In the year ahead, may we remain steadfast in our confession of the Gospel, diligent in our care for one another, and joyful in our witness to the saving work of Jesus Christ. May the Lord grant us wisdom, unity, and compassion as we serve Him and our neighbours in His name.

I pray that God will bless you and your congregation in the coming year with peace, strength, and every spiritual blessing in Christ.

In Christ’s service,
Rev. Dr. Timothy Teuscher
President, Lutheran Church–Canada
