Rev. Jensen marks 50th ordination anniversary

EDMONTON – Rev. Wayne Jensen grew up on a family farm in western Saskatchewan and went to high school and two years of junior college at Concordia College in Edmonton. After two years of senior college in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he enrolled at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon, thereby beginning a 16-year cooperative effort in pastoral education between The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Lutheran Church in America.  

Rev. Jensen served in pastoral ministry at Christ Lutheran Church in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta and at Grace Lutheran Church in Edmonton. He is married to Elaine McBane, who worked a full career as a registered nurse. They raised a daughter and two sons who are all married and parents to their six grandchildren. Since 2013, they have lived quietly in retirement in Edmonton.
