Sharing Christ at the Canada Day Parade
by Keith Matlock
Windsor, Ontario — Last Canada Day, First Lutheran Church and First Lutheran Christian Academy, Windsor Ontario, were blessed to participate in the Windsor Canada Day Parade, sharing the hope of Christ with thousands throughout our community.

What began as a simple idea became a true outreach ministry, supported by many volunteers who gave their time, talents, and prayers. More than 80 participants, including students, families, church members, and volunteers walked, rode on the float, and proudly carried Canadian flags and banners, joyfully witnessing their faith to the crowds along the parade route. Our new school eagle mascot, “Izzy”, (Isaiah 40:31) also made a memorable public debut.
Volunteers distributed approximately 2,000 seed packets with the message “Rooted in Faith,” while QR codes on the float invited spectators to learn more about First Lutheran Church and First Lutheran Christian Academy.
The response from the community was overwhelming, with smiles, waves, applause, and many words of encouragement. We thank God for this opportunity to publicly proclaim Christ, plant seeds of faith, and share His love with our community.
