Strong collaboration between LCC’s seminaries

CANADA – Lutheran Church–Canada’s (LCC) two seminaries have released a new document highlighting the areas of collaboration between the two institutions.

In 2023, Concordia Lutheran Seminary (CLS – Edmonton) and Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary (CLTS – St. Catharines, Ontario) undertook to strengthen their alignment, building on many years of cooperation between the seminaries. The new document from the seminaries details 29 current areas of collaboration in which CLS and CLTS work together. These range from twice-annual online joint faculty meetings, as well as in-person retreats (with the next planned for 2025); annual joint Boards of Regents meetings; a common school-year calendar; shared academic resources; joint publications and promotional material; shared courses between the seminaries; and much more.

The document also includes an appendix, highlighting eleven courses which have been shared between CLS and CLTS from 2019-2024, allowing 27 students from both seminaries to participate online in classes which have taken place in-person at the other seminary.

The full list of “Collaborations in Various Ares of Ministry between CLS and CLTS” is available at LCC’s website here.
